The diseases related to a person’s BMI depend on whether they have a high or low BMI. For those who have a BMI which is within the normal range which is between 18.5 to 24.9, their life expectancy is the longest and they should not have any serious ailments. Not only do those people tend to be healthy but they are also those who look good and fit, and maintain better jobs because they are more competent and their energy levels are high. They also have less number of days absenting themselves from work as their immunity levels are higher and they do not catch the common infections.

Those who have a BMI level which is below normal are usually thin (i.e. a BMI less than 18). Many people are happy to be thin but they should remember that “thin” could mean lower body immunity, more prone to infections, osteoporosis, anorexia and also open to infectious diseases invading the body.

The range between 25 to 29.9 is overweight and though these people are also prone to cardiovascular diseases and diabetes type II, they can correct the situation by loosing some weight with diet and exercise. Those who are obese and have a BIMI of over 30 are in an unhealthy situation and have to think fast about their health.

People who are obese are prone to certain types of cancer, problems of the gall bladder, high blood pressure, diabetes and cardio vascular diseases. Because of their appearance they become the butt of jokes and this may make them depressed and create further trauma for them.
